Create a Book

KDP’s book setup makes it easy for you to upload, enter, and modify your book before publishing. The information you enter during this setup will be used in creating your book’s Amazon detail page. The detail page is where readers go to buy your book. If you want to sell your book as an eBook, hardcover, and paperback, be sure to create all formats in your KDP account and link them together.

Although fiction, The 3rd Shift is a realistic tale of growing up in New York City for many children. This title depicts how drug usage in one’s household can ultimately break up a family. Siblings sticking together at times of adversity is not only a reality, but mandatory.

The 3rd shift is about Sonia Watson, a Bronx native. Despite her environment and her upbringing, Sonia becomes a correctional officer at Riker’s Island. With so much corruption in the correctional system, she will struggle, but will she fold? There is only one way to find out.

Create a Table of Contents

A table of contents (TOC) is important for a good eBook reading experience. A working TOC allows readers to navigate between chapters easily. By following the instructions on this page, you'll create two types of TOCs for your eBook:

• TOC page. Also called an HTML TOC, this is a page at the beginning of your book with links to each chapter.Learn more about creating an HTML TOC in our guide to creating a table of contents with a navigation document
  

• Kindle Interactive TOC. Also called the NCX, this TOC is displayed in the Kindle menu and can be accessed from anywhere in the book.
